Very nice barn find..
« on: May 26, 2017, 09:16:00 PM »
Picked up my very nice "Barn Find", a 1971 CB 750 K1. Engine number cb750E-1056210,
Framenumber cb7501056549

Original paint, smashing chrome (most of it), almost 100% original.

But a barn find doesn't have to be utterly cheap, so I found out. But I had to take it from his hands.

Been standing still for many years. Everything works, except for the battery.

Nice.. Now let's see what my wife says when she finds out.

That barn must have been really damn nicely built.

No squirrel nuts in the pipes?  Cobwebs in the carbs?  What about the owl pellets or pigeon sh!t. Where is all that?!

Very nice find. Looks great. The front brake lever does not look OEM. The right front blinkers doesn't look OEM.  But that's a nice bike

Do not see the Valley Green around much, not sure if they did not make many that color or if a lot got a repaint. I have a $100.00 deposit down on a Valley Green and an option for another 750 a 550 and some more bikes very close to home if he can ever unpack his pole barn enough to get them out after putting them towards the back in 1995  ::)
This is the bike that we speculate might be a German model I believe. Did the European bikes have the black tail light along with those German blinkers--Hmmm .  It looks very nice.

Lovely bike. I don't believe the blinkers or tail light or engine guards are stock... The tail light has "owner installed" wire connectors. The points cover too appears to be aftermarket. But who cares? Its a really great looking bike  :D

The owner might have upgraded to the other blinkers for look and maybe found a set for a good price?

It's a European/export model. The tail light and blinkers are correct.
And it looks nice. I love that color!

It's a lovely bike that's been lovingly cared for, some very minor changes and "upgrades" from stock. It's not the magical unicorn some would like it to be  ::)

I can see maybe switching to the Euro parts to be different..
But the headlite ears are black.. Does that mean replacement, repaint, or Euro ?

Headlight ears are replacement, wrong ones I'm afraid. Will be replaced. Just like shock observers, and some other small stuff.

Why do you say wrong ones, look like the small reflector?
The shocks are Konis I think, probably work way better than stock.

Even back in the day, stock Honda rear shocks were considered, item to be changed out..
