I'm still around and coming out of hibernation
« on: May 29, 2017, 05:33:42 PM »
How's everybody doing! Been a while since posting anything and even longer getting on a bike and taking it out. Forgot how much I like riding these old Honda's and talking with everyone here. Stop by the ball field that both my sons played little league baseball at some 20 years ago. My K4 still runs great  by the way ;)

Never thought I would ever get in that state but kind of lost interest in the bikes for a while, didn't want to work on them or even care to ride them really. Walked by them many a time telling myself I needed to do something but never did. They just set in the garage collecting dust.  Even thought about getting rid of  the whole lot :-\  Last Sunday walked by the K4 and instead of walking on by it like I had done for months I open up the garage door and roll in outside. Something was telling me I needed to go for a ride. I knew if any of my bikes would crank up with no problem it would be this one. Blew some of dust off, checked tire pressure and oil and she fired up on the 2nd kick. Ah the sound of a sohc4 CB750.  and than went on a 45 min ride down through the country and I'm glad I did!

Sounds great "D".  When I get on the bike after a tiring day it clears the mind and just relaxes the heck out of me. I'd rather ride than sit in a chair in front of the TV. Maybe you need a Marcia pick me up?  :)

Btw Love that 'Boss Maroon' colour!
Found this bike in 2014 at a estate sale. Like the old saying goes it's a small world, member jack58(Randy) his dad sold this bike new in 1974 at his Honda dealership in Lexington, NC. Posted in another thread on this forum is the story of how I found out the history of the bike.

G'Day Dwight, glad to see you back mate, luckily for you your interest should be coming back as the weather there improves, we're on the other end of the scale here, after a long hot summer it suddenly went cold and wet.

I can handle cold, but cold and wet is no good for this little black duck, so I'm taking some more of my bikes over to the self storage place on Saturday to fill the shipping container I rent there, which will give me just enough room to continue with my K2 build and my K0 resto, under cover. Good to see you back! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well she does figure heavily in your history mate, have you ever written to her? I'm a big fan of Jim Croce's music, but he died long before my brother bought me one of his albums for Christmas in 1979.

Years later I saw on the internet that his wife had a restaurant in San Diego(?) so I sent her an email just telling her how much I enjoyed Jim's music, and I was surprised that she replied only a day or two later, what a lovely person! Cheers, Terry. ;D

He was a brilliant singer/songwriter Bobby, and like too many of his era, taken before he received the acclaim he deserved. Cheers, Terry.
