Slack on throttle grip
« on: June 02, 2017, 04:23:14 PM »
So i needed to replace the throttle cable. I did and now it snaps back correct but when i push the grip forward there is play ..it goes  forward  a fraction. ..which  pops out the cable  out the in that  unit under  the seat. ..not sure what thats called?
What am i doing wrong  here?? When i not push it forward  and just  twist  throttle  back its fine..normal.  but I still  have some slack  and can push  throttle  forward. The wire is correct  size as last one. Bike is 76 550 honda.
Can anyone  help guide me  what I'm  doing wrong?? Im new  to this  part. I have the owner manual  but it doesnt explain  very well  what Im doing.  Any help would be so helpful. Please  help!

Download the service manual from this website and go to "Throttle Cable Adjustment" on page 9 in Section 3 - Maintenance Operations.  Then ask questions if that doesn't work or make sense.  Could be some issue like a missing or broken something to deal with.
