Hate to tell ya man, but if your key switch is toast, there's no sense in rewiring things around it.
They are serviceable, have ya done that yet?

You keep having this problem and I really don't think you need to start cutting wires to fix it.  Did you pull the ignition and check if it's the problem?  I showed you how to check it in another thread and you don't need to see any colors.  It's really not hard to get the ignition switch out of there, and you don't need to even pull the headlight bucket to access it.  I can take some photos to illustrate if it helps.  550F, right?

If you need to replace the cap to keep the switch components in place, you can order one of my 3D printed copies (if it fits your model) and get it working properly.  It's not a perfect swap yet, but the plastic files easily and mine works perfectly.  My switch wasn't working properly due to either corrosion and/or the broken cap not keeping tension on the switch contacts.

It is my ignition! I don't want to have 2 keys if I got a new ignition.

1 key for ignition and another for tank and seat.

Imo, two keys is better than no tail light.  Even if only interim.  Then you can fix your broken key switch at your leisure.
Then you have a working spare, or a part to barter.

You know, this is a good idea.  It's not too hard to pull the ignition and the "improved" replacement is only $20.  You'll be up and running in an hour

Or you could get the ignition/seat lock combo for $33 and have only one key.  The fuel lock isn't really a lock - it will open with the replacement key.  I just tried with my aftermarket ignition replacement key.  http://4into1.com/new-improved-ignition-switch-fork-lock-assembly-seat-lock-set-honda-cb400f-550-650-750/

It's really a ton easier and is an actual fix as opposed to cutting wires and booger-rigging things.
