Top of pilot jet chipped off - ok or replace?
« on: June 22, 2017, 08:29:30 AM »
Hello, Im rebuilding my set of carbs and when I removed the bowl I noticed that the top of the pilot jet has been broken off. Will it run ok as is or do I need to replace it?

If I have to replace it Ill need to try and cut a slit it the top to try and get a screw driver in there.

If anyone has a set of stock pilot jets laying around Id be interested. I ordered one from BikeBandit but haven't heard anything back. The bike is a 74 CB750.

Thanks

Replace it.

It behaves as a straw, drawing fuel from near bottom of float bowl.  Shorter tube will starve earlier than the rest, depends on how much of the tube is missing.
