I still remember Chief Bromden (Will Sampson http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0760225/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t24) in that movie, and of course Nurse Ratchet (Louise Fletcher)!

If you liked the movie, read the book! :) I read it before seeing the movie, and while the movie did a good job of condensing the story into 2 hours, it left out a lot. The narrator in the book is the Chief.

My family got a real chuckle  of that pic.
There are two now big name actors in that film, that I could not recognize by their pic of the role they played in that movie.

There is a bit of history behind the movie: in a stage play, Kirk Douglas played McMurphy, and secured the rights, intending to make a movie version, but it didn't happen because the director he chose never got the proposal. It took another 10 years or so before his son Micheal took the project back up for the movie to be made, by which time Kirk was considered too old to play the part.

Funny that bike should show up...
I bought a similar one with custom paint, in the late 70,s. Said it was 900cc, orange wild custom paint, even the RC pipe ! And it was pricey. It went real good but had long forks, so of course it did wheelies.
Anyway it started burning oil.i had taken it on a 1000 mile trip one weekend two up. I remember racing against my buddies new XS11.
Probably that winter I tore it down, was upset , because they were reworked 350 pistons, very high comp, mystery cam marked Luther..very on or off motor no midrange.
I put a 77 K motor in that bike.. The 900/836 motor then became my 836 I think.. Changed barrels, and hmmmm hope I changed the rods... The 836 was together from about 80-07..... Time to retire those rods!!

I had read that, even so, Kirk Douglas was a little miffed that he got passed over for Jack Nicholson.
