Yes, that wonderful song was written about an Aussie's adventures around the world, and the other Aussies that he kept bumping into. I hung out with a heap of American draft dodgers in Amsterdam back in the early 70's, (I was too young to be a draft dodger, but they still let me smoke their weed, they were nice guys) and they were always talking about their adventures around Europe, and all of the like-minded Americans they kept bumping into. It was that "small world" thing, I guess? ;D   
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
