Howdy from Texas
« on: June 09, 2017, 12:38:43 PM »
Howdy from Texas. I'm in DFW and I joined the forum over a year ago when I started looking into building a CB750. Having spent the last year learning and rebuilding a 71 CT70, I am finally ready to jump off the ledge into the deep end. Looking forward to sharing pictures of the rebuild process and learning more along the way. Thanks.

Thanks to everyone. It didn't take me long to find my project bike. Just picked up this 1975 CB750 with 13k miles on it. All original minus the exhaust. Some slight rust in the tank so that will be the first issue I address. Looking forward to tearing her down and shining her up back into like new condition.

Get that thing finished by October and ride down to Harvest Classic with us!

A bunch of SOHC4 guys meet up there every year.  It's great motorcycle camping fun!

Thanks. Just bookmarked it for the future.

I doubt I'll have it done by October as I'm wanting to fully restore but I'll definitely look into it for next year.

Why not get it running first before full teardown so you know what the motor needs, if anything?
With only 13K, a carb cleaning may be all she needs to run....

Definitely planning on getting her running before tearing her down. As of right now, I'm hoping it's mostly cosmetic but like you said some good riding will tell me what else needs fixing. Reason for the teardown plans, is I have a new baby due this fall so my riding time will be extremely limited.
