Best repurposed story

 Hey y'all Like the subject says. What's your best repurposed story. It can be something that got your butt home or a thingy dohicky thingamajiger that became a stand out conversation starter on a custom build project. Who knows you might get someone's butt home someday or be That guy who once...  I once used 2 stainless steel shower drains through bolted at 3 points with steel wool sandwiched between them to make a baffle for some 4 into 1 exhaust on a 550 four K I had. Used The handle and about 3/4 of a inch of a Fairburn Sikes commando knife blade that I  pop riveted then used epoxy putty the 2 part all in one stick type cured and sanded to smooth it all out to give my oil fill cap a better bit of gription  when checking the oil in the winter months plus it looked pretty cool a Dagger handle sticking outa  the crank case got quite a few Aww man that's so cool where did you buy that !!!  :D Y'all Keepem 1UP & 2 DOWN

Found an old Model T brass headlight, and wood steering wheel at a hoarders shop. Got them for $50. Made a lamp.

panty hose air filter...get some black ones, cut the foot off, stretch it over the bottom half of your cb750 airbox
If it works good, it looks good...

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.
