1976 CB750F1 Ground connections

OK I am at the stage of refitting my wiring harness and the electrics, just a couple of questions on ground connections:
From the battery to the rear upper right engine mount, do I have to ensure good metal to metal contant between the connector and the engine (scrape off paint on the crankcase), also on the same mount do I have to scrape paint off my newly powder coated engine plate where the plate contacts the ground cable. If I do surely I woiuld have to do the same on the bolts that hold the plate to the frame and the frame itself ?
On the coils do I have to scrape paint off the frame to ensure good metal to metal contact with the ground cable connector or rely on the bolt head/thread connections ?
On the rectifier does the centre mounting bolt act as a ground connection and again would require good metal to metal contact.
Once I have removed paint what is the best way to prevent rust, dielectric grease ? I will be using it on all my freshly cleaned connectors to prevent corrosion so why not on the ground connections.

Think if the ground as part of the circuit, so corrosion there is the same as anywhere else in the circuit so the grease is a good idea. Essentially any part of the frame including the engine is a ground. You could establish a central ground somewhere unseen on the frame. I would aviod scraping off your powder coat and find a creative way to establish a solid ground.

When I reassembled mine after powdercoating, I used a wire wheel on an electric drill and cleaned up the Coil Mounting threaded bit, and made sure the bolt and earth wire attached to it were nice and clean - sprayed over with some INOX..

the main earth from the battery to the rear engine mount, I did not bother as the main engine mount bolt and washer will provide a good solid earth, as long as your battery earth lead is nice and clean as well - also sprayed some INOX on them....
not had any problems at all.......

I drilled and tapped a hole into the inside of the frame tube , just above the upper right engine mount - as to be invisible. The neg strap then actuall threads into the frame making a very solid ground.

If you bought a new engine mounting plate from honda it has no paint where the earth strap (Ground cable for our colonials) bolts on but the small bolts to the frame pass current ok as long as the threads aint painted
WARNING make sure you have excellant earth contiuity at the engine mount or you will melt your loom

It is better to have paint removed where the coil earth mounts as well.

                  Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and remove some paint, seems like the right thing to do, I did check the manual (check when desperate) and the rectifier mounting bolt is a ground and should have good metal to metal contact.
