400 - A Hawk CDI Box
« on: June 18, 2017, 06:11:43 PM »
I have an absolutely beautiful Honda 400 Automatic Hawk. The CDI box took a dump.  There is one place I have found that makes a new replacement and it is NOT for the automatic, it's for she manual. I know there is a way to use it eliminating certain wires and or switches BUT I do not know the procedure!! Any help is appreciated!!

The difference may be in the amount/rate of the advance built into the stock CDI boxes; Honda did this with some of their CDI ignitions for similar model bikes like the XR/XL and FT 500s. If the aftermarket box will plug directly into the Hawk harness, I would give it a try.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
