Pingel attachment for 777 Cb750f tank
« on: August 26, 2017, 07:33:33 AM »
Hello everyone
Does anyone know if there's a bung attachment for a Pingel petcock for a 77 cb750f tank ?

I bought a 18 mm attachment thinking it would fit but the bung size of the tank is 16mm

Thanks

I don't think there has ever been one easily available...at one time Frank/754 was making them.  You will have to ask him if he can still whip one up.  If you got some local machinist talent, I don't think it would be terribly expensive to have one made.  Let us know what you end up with, as these petcocks are a problem.

I found this on ebay for 14.95 to my door. Fit perfect on 1978  750f.

I bought a new OEM honda petcock that fit my 78F tank from JT Marks. I think it was $45 or so.

Jnel, hope that works for you.  I am guessing you have not had it in service long, if at all.  If it lasts a season, that's a deal!

Jamesw, that is awsome!  Wonder if he has more?

Yeah been meaning to ask 754, but I read he has his machines stored
Maybe I can just find a machinist around and base it off the adapter I already have and just make it 16mm

And when you say these petcocks are a problem, do you mean fitting them on the tanks or just in general they don't work well ?

I meant that the stock petcocks on the 77/78 fs are usually leaky and there are not as many options to fix as some other bikes.  Pingels are great but you gotta get em screwed on there somehow right?

I have no lathe to use that will cut the metric threads. Sorry.

  Pingels are great but...

Considered buying one for my Triple H2, but the one with three outlets doesnt have reserve.  Deal killer for me.  Rebuilding the original...
