My two latest CB750s have had the motors out at some time. Is there anyway to tell if they have had a 836 kit put in without pulling the head?

You can get cylinder light in the plug hole and look around.
Popup dome with big valve cutouts may tell the tale.

Wonder if you could measure cylinder volume with oil while the piston is at TDC or BDC. Fill it with a CC syringe. In my mind this works, haha.
