Worth every penny.  Just like vintage motorcycles.

Totally agree.  I've always had a boat, sold all my bikes at one point, missed them and bought many more! One boat is enough though.

The two happiest days in a boater's life: The day he buys one and the day he sells it.

The best boat to have? One that your friends own.

It's like in the movie Das Boot when all is going well and Johann the engineer is checking the diesels. All purring away nicely.

no aktuly it goes 12 knob..very fast for a 20" boat.
.it rated for a 12 hk engine..but it have a 22 hk diesel-2 cylender Volvo penta..vho can run up to 3000 rpm..but ve only run it 1500-2000..the last rpm gives no ekstra speed..but gives a hell of noise..just like a f 105.your ears falls off..luckly its not make Black stripes in the blue sky

Disagree, I always had my own boat so I can come and go as I please...

My Ma loves boats. My grandfather built his own boats, and when she was a little girl in the 1930's, they had a houseboat that he'd built, that they'd holiday on. My Dad, on the other hand, hated boats, and could get sea-sick on a wet lawn. When I was a kid, my grandfather built my Ma a little Bondwood boat so we could all go boating on the river.

There was no love lost between my Dad and grandfather, but they both loved my Ma, so Dad dutifully bought a new Chrysler 7 HP outboard motor from the local boat shop, and we went boating. Dad put the boat in the water, we all piled in, and he ran the boat about a mile up the river, turned it around, ran it back to the trailer, and and took us all home again. The boat sat in the driveway and eventually rotted there, and went to the dump.

The little Chrysler outboard is still sitting in a corner of the garden shed, around 50 years old with maybe an hour of run time in fresh water? It's just a pity my Ma didn't like Honda CB750's............ ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I enjoyed hearing the boat story, also the WW2 and television news story. It's always a learning experience when you hear  from someone in a different part of the world.

Beautiful pics Nils, and it's just amazing how much Nazi infrastructure has survived until today. I was looking at some shows on youtube recently, people are still finding underground bunker systems intact, 70+ years after the war, the amount of construction that took place in such a short space of time is absolutely incredible. Of course, one hell of a lot of infrastructure was knocked down over the same period, they were still rebuilding Germany when I was there in the early 1970's. ;D
