CB550 Replacement Coil Fitment Issues
« on: June 30, 2017, 07:05:12 PM »
So I'm replacing the stock (I think) coils on my 550 with Magna 5 ohm and because the plug wires come out of the bottom of the coils and not the "front" of them like the stock ones, the plug wires interfere with the small plastic wiring holder/organizer that my 550 has under the tank. I'm sure I can't be the first person to have this issue. Any clever workarounds for this? I've played around with flipping the coil upside down but then the wires would interfere with the tank. I've also thought about trying to use spacers to lift the coil up but I still wouldn't have enough clearance I don't think.

Any suggestions are welcome. My thought right now is to stuff the wires into the plastic organizer and zip tie it to the frame under the tank? Not pretty but I guess it would work.
