Still waiting to see a supercharger on the banana wing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm actually disappointed to see that you painted it. Sulfur Yellow was a one year only color and is prized by Goldwing guys. You could have sold the set for decent coin and picked up replacement body parts (can't call them tins since only the top of the shelter is metal) in a different color (or colors) to repaint.
Nice pair...your 76 white one...could you share how much it was purchased for? The early wings are going for very good money...didn't know with needing work if that would change.I like the early gl1000 and gl1100s naked...Sulfur Yellow is a gorgeous color I think.David
How big a gun did you use to scare them bad enough to sell it for $500! ?Wow, you and DonR seem to be in the right places to find ones like these.
That is funny! Just teasing about the gun, someone wanted you to have that bike. You will have to do some good photos on your paint work. Maybe we can learn more watching your process. One of the things I loved about rc car racing (on-road stuff) was coming up with fun paint schemes. Doing 18th scale a few years I started treating them like replicas on a few. We went through plenty of bodies as there was enough rubbing going on...Organized a Ferrari Challenge for our clu's race and we were able to acquire bodies and sponsorship from a fellow who made them and other bodies. It was fun!I did three schemes, Scorpion Racing, a silver with orange checkers fade behind front wheel and orange prancing horse on hood, and I can't even remember what my scheme was... my kids were racing with me some weekends. They were based on images from the F360 Ferrari Challenges. It was fun but the intricate work could be a challenge at that scale with 3/32 squares on the checkers.David
The seat on the white bike looks like the one on my 79 but after I trimmed the foam. It was peaked in the center and sloped toward the tank, it almost neutered me going to Sturgis. I got a hacksaw blade after I got there and changed the shape so it cradled my legs more and didn't slide me towards the tank. If you notice any of the above symptoms don't take a long trip until it's solved. L0L!
