What are the holes in the rear tail cowling for?
Paint looks great!  Dig those burgundy Wing things shown too!  Lovely depth in those parts.

Thank you Jas.  I pinstriped with a dark green and recreated a few of the pieces this evening.  The flip pearl is pretty cool in sunlight.

That is very pretty, your normal phenomenal work. Did you do paintwork for Tighe and Branden's bikes?

palepainter and I share a love of painting bikes.  I did Branden's and Tige's bikes for them. And we also, as it turns out, both like first-gen Goldwings.  I took mine in a bit different direction, but still enjoy a nice naked 'wing.

That is a beauty.  The paintwork isn't over done.  You know what they say....just because you can, doesn't mean you should.  Really nice work.  I dig the color choices you made all around as well as the engine!!!  What paints did  you use on your engine?  Bravo.

Love that green!

Me too Branden.  I have had this stuff on the shelf for years, mostly using it for graphics on bikes.  This time I decided to make a bolder application.  It really shifts from a deep green to a very cool violet.

Thanks for the compliment palepainter.  I used single stage urethane for the engine's valve and timing belt covers, and a semi-gloss black VHT spray can for the block and intakes.

I'll look forward to finished pics of your own.

Nvr2old, sorry about the confusion...
Your paintwork, of those here lucky enough to have you do paintwork for them, has been superb.

Both Branden and Tighe are in the market for a painter from their thread's admissions...  Tighe is working on a 90s Ducati so it would be a simple job and unless Branden gets fancy in his respray, provided he does not give it a go himself, it would be an easy one too.

Fwiw.

I really like the Wing paint work of both yours and Palepainter's .  They are unique and very nicely done.

I am a sucker for the sulfur yellow Wings and if I get one down the road it will be sporting that color in a repaint.  I would also like to add a Vesco Rabid Transit fairing to it, they are very nice fairings.  Not a fan of Hondaline fairings... the WindJammer SS and IV ( same fairing really) I like and the III isn't bad either.

No problem, Raf.  Doing my best not to hijack this thread, let me just say that when the time comes for your own 'wing, and if you're still thinking about an SS Windjammer, I have one with all the mounts, and a set of period Samsonite bags and trunk that I took off of mine.

Making headway on the GL.  Wheels tore down.  Hubs blasted and painted.   Spikes on order.  Big pile of stuff headed to powder coat.  Tail light mounted.   Seat will be done on Friday.

Man, that is killer...going to be bold and unique.
Careful, you might start some trend and then all those inexpensive wings will become overpriced and hacked up aborted projects some hipster had overestimated their ability to learn, disproving what their parents told them...

Thank you Sir,  HEHEHEHE.  Don't worry, it has already happened.  But in preparation for the worst, I own 3 of them right now.  :)

Haha.  I don't think they will be any cheap goldwings for sale because Mike keeps buying all of them.  Pretty soon he will control all used goldwing sales

That engine is as smooth as you could want. I was amazed the first time I hit the highway on my '77 and could see what was behind me on my control mounted mirrors like the engine wasn't even running

Tonight I got some time in.  Rounded up all the goodies for blasting and powder. Triple tree Timkin bearings came in allowing me to mock up and flip the headlight brackets, then trim them.  The headlight and brackets will be getting painted
