Any woodworkers out there?
« on: July 04, 2017, 09:57:01 AM »
In addition to working on my old Honda, I am a woodworker and woodturner. Anybody else on the forum have the same interests? My website:    http://www.keithptompkins.com/  Thanks for checking it out.

I've built furniture and kitchen cabinets for 2 of our 4 houses, but never turned anything.  Currently the woodshop tools are all pushed into a corner of the garage.   :(

Thanks everyone! To answer the question, some pieces are steamed, then bent to shape after they are turned, some pieces involve multiple turnings cut and reassembled to form spirals. Thanks again, Keith

My father is a cabinet maker. I haven't inherited his skills, but I haven't exactly had practice, either.

Good looking work Keith.

you have some impressive artwork. I'm impressed.

When I have time to actually finish one of my tables I'll post the pictures here. It weights 150 kilos and is composed 2 pieces of maple connected
approximately 1.5 meters x .75 meters finished.

I do not sell any of my work, just give it away to friends and family.
peace,
