CB750K3 Engine Guards

Just bought a set of used engine guards for a 1973 CB750K.  Each side mounts at three points: on the front upper mount bolt, on the forward bottom mount bolt, and the middle leg gets braced to the frame with a U bolt.  The bracket for each leg is approx 6mm thick, and there isn't enough exposed thread on the stock mounting bolts to add 12mm and have the nuts properly secured.

I'm hoping to find: 1) mounting instructions;  2) a source for longer bolts; 3) ideally, part numbers for longer OEM or aftermarket bolts.

Any help or direction is appreciated.

These used to come with some "jam nuts" (if they are Triple A brand units) that are half as thick as normal: Ace Hardware (near me) has these. If they are the Bates-branded ones, they came with Nylock Nuts, which have the nylon gripper in the top of the nut: with these you removed the lock washers to get the needed bolt length. There were 2 other similar units in the day, but I never installed those, so I don't know what hardware they supplied.

Seller said they are the Triple A brand so I'll try a local Ace for jam nuts.  Can the bars be installed just loosening the exhaust pipes or do they need to be removed?
