Hello All

I've got a question about Speedometer/Tachometer interchangeability.  I've got a 1970 CB750 KO and the speedometer was crushed after the bike fell on its side, prior to my ownership.  Well, I've been looking for another speedometer that's specific for model year 1970 but they are either way expenseive on eBay, or the ones that are reasonably priced are in crummy shape.  So, here's my question:  Is it possible to interface a speedometer (and also the tach if possible) from a later (1971-1976) cb750?  I've found one on ebay, but what do think?  Are there wiring issues too?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Prost!

You can only fit the later ones if you fit the complete top yoke (tripple tree) with ALL the parts that bolt to it.

Thanks everybody!  Yeah Dusterdude, that was how all this originated.  My speedo seems to be pretty hard to find in decent condition (with the idiot lights inside the unit), so naturally I wanted to try to engineer something else.  I wonder if an aftermarket speedo might work (ie: Autometer, Sun, etc.).
