Off topic - 'doco' - where did this term originate?  I've got someone in the office (South African in origin) who uses the term 'docco' to refer to documentation.  I thought it was just him  ;)

ALright Ben, aside for the oddball aussie lingo, I think I got everything ;D
Now I notice you switched to a 500/550 speedo, In the pics, the speedo looks like the one I have on my 78K. Are you able to get measurements of the 500 speedo drive so I can compare it too mine? Does the new speedo drive bolt right up with no mods and no HUGE kmh/mph adjustments?

should be a neat fit into the middle of the disc, and have a little tab on it so that it can be driven by the cut outs on the hub(you'll know what i mean when you pull the  old speedo drive off... the the only thing you are changing is the speedo drive plate, not the gear box, so the gearing to the speeod isnt changed...all a bolt on affair and away you go, well for the wheel anyway...peace

I dont think the term 'doco' is just an antipodean thing, I think it is just a carry on from the file extension .doc, as for word documents!

There is a slight problem with this as the 500/550 speedo drive plate is exactly the same as the K1 onwards 750. The one that works is the VERY early 750 one now discontinued. The drive plate can be modified relatively easily with a vice, hacksaw and hammer, OK a file as well if you want it tidy. I have pictures of both if anybody wants them please PM me.

what if you dont want to or cant find a cb500/500 speedo .. will the stock '78 cb750k speedo still line up with the right disc and hub and allow for reinstallation of the wheel assembly ?? 

the speedometer might not work, but i can install a digital bicycle speedometer with the pickup magnet for my speed ...

Wow, Cben, you did quite a job in putting your doco (note gratuitous use of antipodean jargon) together!  I don't have plans for a conversion; however, this would make a great faq.  If you'd like, I'd be happy to do the minor effort required to post it with the faq's.
