VM29 smoothbore carbs, who has a set on the shelf?
« on: July 22, 2017, 12:28:06 pm »
Not looking to buy them, but if you have a set of VM29 smooth bore carbs not currently being used, please send me a PM.  It doesn't matter if they are racked for a cb750, spacing doesn't matter.

It's for a very good cause ;)...PM for more info.

George, I think I have a print of some old carb flow tests; if you're interested I'll look for it and post it.

Interesting Scotty thanks.

I'd be interested in other references in flow bench testing on our old carbs, especially of the carb types we tend to use.
I have the early 70 Hot Bike article by Branch Flowmetrics that gives some useful information, but little else.

I thought it was interesting how the Amal 30 flow varied so much with the entrance and filters.
Something flow data doesn't show is how well a particular carb will mix air and fuel at the different flow levels....
