Modern Nissin front master brake switch connection
« on: July 23, 2017, 11:49:21 PM »
What is this brake switch connection called and where do a buy the "switch wire/harness" that mates with it? I've googled everything I can thing of with no luck. There has to be a nice clean female plug for this?

In the stock setup the brake switch is off of the junction block and it is a hydraulic switch. You will need to disregard this if you maintain the pressure switch or move your wiring to the handlebar.  It is breaking the path for the power to flow in the brake light circuit until you apply the brakes.

You may need to extend the wires and pick up some .187 or .250" quick disconnects and insulate those ends against an unintentional short circuit.

I am not using, nor do I have a hydrodrolic junction box switch. I want to use that switch and the femsle plug that goes with it. I will modify the other end to use bullet connectors that plug into the harness.

I am trying to figure out what the female connector to that switch is. It must be fairly common in newer bikes?

Not sure if my kids cbr has a "bulk" female connector on his, I'd have to take a look at his to make sure but my 83 GL1100 has 2 separate small female spade connectors from the factory and come to think of it so far every bike I've worked on (which isn't all that many) that has had that style brake switch used 2 separate female spade connectors as well.
