Author Topic: Back on Two wheels finally.... 2001 Harley Davidson FXSTD "Deuce" (Read 1798 times)

When i started dating the girl that later became my wife 4 years ago..i pretty much stopped riding all together. Parked and packed up the '76 Yamaha DT250C and the '85 Honda V45 Interceptor. Fast forward to this year. Finally have a place of our own and have been married a year as of today. Earlier this month i picked up a 2001 Harley Davidson Softail "Deuce" i must say it feels great to be back on two wheels again, I ended up selling the Yamaha Seca i picked up recently to make room for the Softail. And it looks like the other Yamaha will be sold as well. Anyways...on to this bike..

Specs:

2001 HD Softail
88" Cu in vtwin with Stage 1 upgrades

I have a quick detach windshield for it but it is off in the pics. I will be using it only for highway riding. There was a sissy bar on it as well but i removed that along with changing the grips today.

Very nice. Don't sell the dt though. It's always good to have a backup dualsport and the dt bikes are awesome.

Nice! And +1 on keeping the DT250, those old Yam dirtbikes are great commuters as well as off road fun bikes.

She def is, Especially with having Stage 1. But it is quite likely i will be upgrading to a 95" Kit with cams come winter.

The DT has been sitting since '13, All my old riding areas for it have since become developments. It kind of got phased out with no where to ride it really. It may eventually get replaced by a Sportster based Dirt tracker.

I offered it up to a friend who would use it as a Commuter. I never really felt an attachment to it as it was meant to be a short term bike while the Interceptor was in the shop. I will probably put the Interceptor into the commuter role or like i said above eventually build a sporty based tracker. My health has declined to the point i just cannot kick start the ol girl anymore.
