I pushed for a number of miles but never tried to add the distance.
I rode a Honda CB125S on a long tour

of a few thousand miles and I would intentionally stop when I arrived at the town limit sign in small towns on secondary roads where i was going and passing through and turn the engine off and walk the bike through town to see the new town I had never been in before.I did get excersize that way and enjoyed it;that was part of the plan when i chose to ride that small bike on the trip;it is so short I held onto the 2 mirror stalks to steer while stepping tall with it.The bike is only about 225lbs and I had about 35lbs of luggage on the back of it.That was a very nice experience as I had plenty of time to get to my destination;I may never pass that way again so it was nice to at least get a slow close-up of all those towns, people, etc. that i would have missed otherwise.I could always kick the bike to life when I was ready to increase my forward motion.
I am planning a bicycle trip next April from CA. to Detroit,Mi. and I plan to leave the bicycle there w/ my friend in St. Clair Shores and drive a motorcycle back to CA. I Must challenge myself rather than slowly fade away into old age..
