Hi all, I'm new here.
I've got a 78 CB750F. It ran fine but the throttle and clutch felt a little sticky so I decided to work on that today. I've replaced the clutch cable with a new one (smaller one actually too match the clubman bars) and removed, lubed and reinstalled the throttle cables. Put everything back together and went for a test ride:
Clutch feels super smooth, throttle feels way better than it was. However, when I ride away on my bike it all runs fine but when I reach around the 3000+ rpm it just makes a lot of noise (revs) without accelerating. Like if the clutch is engaged. I can shift into the next gear and accelerate again until I open the throttle too much and the same thing happens.
Since I worked on the clutch cable I thought it could have something to do with this but I can't figure it out. Why would it engage while riding? Something with the cable play perhaps? Or does this sound more like a problem with the throttle since I've worked on that today as well?
