Topic: Petcock filter screen

Where can I get my hands on replacement screens that go in the bowl of the petcock on my '73 CB500K2? I also need to replace the dried out O-ring as well. Are there some generic ways to go about this?

I see petcock rebuild kits on Ebay all the time, but do I need to go that route just for a couple of parts? I was hoping there would be a cheaper route! Call me optimistic okay?

Hi greg,

     You can get the individual pieces you need from Service Honda on the web, without having to buy the entire rebuild kit............ but,

     The killer is that Service Honda has a minimum order amount (I believe it is $25), so.......

     If you do find a correctly sized O ring somewhere, bear in mind that not all O rings made are resistant to the effects of gasoline.............. just a thought....
