I have been having issues with my starter clutch so I rebuilt it with new springs and rollers which did not make any difference at all. Now I'm thinking that it might be that the starting gear is too worn or could it be something entirely different? The starter motor has been rebuilt, all the electrics is brand new, and the flywheel bolt was torqued to 72ft-lb. Appreciate all the tips you might have!

It sounds like the hub on the gear, where the rollers ride, is worn:

Scotly, did you ever turn one down?
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
