Yamiya Oil Seal Kit cb750
« on: August 02, 2017, 01:35:21 PM »

Does anyone have any experience with these?

http://www.yamiya750.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=246_21_250_155&products_id=125

It comes in a red and white shrink wrapped pack "ARX" made in japan "for professional use"

I found that CMNSL carries the same brand for other hondas as well.

Is it a mistake to throw these in there?  I know nothing beats honda quality, just wanted to see if anyone has had success with these since I have them...

Thanks!

I used them on my 836 build. No problems so far.

The only one that is really difficult to change out is the crank seal near the points. If that goes "tits up" that would be a bummer.

You need to split the cases to do that one, no?

Yes...it has a lip.  It cant be pressed in like many others.

I put an aftermarket seal kit in my K2, I think it was the Crusin Image one, anyway, 5,000 Kays later the points seal went bad. Being as it's so much fun to replace that seal I would put Genuine Honda in from now on.

My points seal is leaking. How difficult is it to replace? I assume the whole case has to have its mating surfaces scraped and resealed.
I wonder iif it would be possible to just pry out the old one and hammer in a new seal sans lip. eh?

You have to split the cases, it's a nice casual weekend job, or a day rush job, take out the cam chain tensioner so you can lift the crank up on the points side enough to slide the new seal on. Worst bit is taking out the engine. Yep, clean and reseal cases too. I tried normal un-lipped seal first, tapped it in with sealant, no good. Make sure to use Gen Honda seal.

Bummer. What kind of junk are these seals made of anyway? 47 years and the bugger leaks.

If youre headed out to the reunion, just acetone clean that area really well, add a schmear of some non-hardening sealant, and ride it till you cant stand the thought of some unseen sealant keeping oil from not leaking behind your points cover.  ;D
