New CB550 owner in the Bay Area
« on: September 19, 2017, 12:42:39 PM »
Howdy All,

Purchased my first bike (1974 CB550K0) a few months ago.  I've been creeping on this forum since I bought the bike and thought it was about time I introduced myself!

The bike is in great shape looks-wise, but has taken a lot of wrenching for a noob to get it running well.  So far I've torn apart the carbs, cleaned/rebuilt/jet them for the 4 into 1 exhaust/pod filters that were on the bike when I purchased it, your typical tuning stuff (cam chain, ignition timing, valve adjustment, carb sync), new master cylinder, steel brake lines, fork seals on a used set of blacked out forks, added a fork brace, new control cables, clutch disks, springs, etc.  She is running much better than when I bought her, but there is still work to be done.

I would like to thank you all for the solid advice I have gotten as I attempt to wrench on the bike.

Any other bay area folks up for a ride?!
