Topic: Cylinder GASKET part # 12115-300-000

Hi everyone,

I need some help. I have 1975 CB750F SuperSport

I ordered new gasket parts for my cylinder per the manual, but when received from Honda, the part seems a bit too tall. In the attached photo you will see the original part on the left and the new on the right. The new one is about 7mm and the original is about 6mm in height.

What the heck? How do I get the right size or can I go with the taller ones, but they seem to interfere a bit with the head gasket between the cylinder and the head.

Looking for some insight on these, or how do I get the right size for my year?

Post a picture of the seal next to the opening in the gasket. Earlier models did not use these (nor item number 3 in the fiche above) so the holes in the gasket were smaller on the earlier models. Later models had a larger hole at this location to accommodate these seals. If the seals don't fit through the hole in the gasket then you may have gotten a earlier gasket. What is the part number of the gasket you received?

 Age may have taken its toll on the rubber gasket on the left. Compare the new gasket to the old one if you saved it to see if there are any differences.
