Winker Stoppers - 750 K3
« on: August 14, 2017, 03:57:26 PM »
Does anyone know of a good source for the part called the Winker Stoppers - they attach to the grab bar on a 1973 CB 750K (among others), and they provide a mounting point for the rear signal stays.  They also have a ground wire attached to them.   They were that strange green metal color (sorry I don't have a name for it).   The Honda part #'s were 33604-323-670 (right)  and  33605-323-670 (left).

I bought a set of reproduction ones from Vintage CB750, and in the picture on their site they looked correct (color, and wire features) - not so much when they arrived. :-\

Could we talk about parts from Taiwan???

Thanks
Larry

Honda does still sell the rubber piece.

Thanks for that.  I do need the whole thing/s.  I did know about the rubber pieces, but the only metal parts I have need to be straightened, perhaps too much. Although they do have the proper original color (mostly!!!).    The ones in the link look black, but at least the wires look OK.  As I said though, the Vintage ones looked great - until they arrived.

Well, it's likely that all of these parts come from the same factory in China, Taiwan, or Vietnam and everyone is selling the same part.

If we are talking about those metal clam shell like mounts for the rear blinker on the grab bar I have just seen them in black on my bikes, don't remember green. Also check the parts list because those should be a difference between the K2-K4 and the k5-k6 models.

Yeah, I know that grey/green color he's talking about but all ones I've ever seen were black as well.

Thanks again,

I will probably talk to the Z1 people to see what I can find out.  The Vintage set will go on something else, and I hope the Z1 versions will be a better look for the 750 K3.

If you get the aftermarket turn signal mounts pay attention to the ground wire and make sure it has continuity between the bullet connector and the threaded screw holes.  I found the aftermarket ones put the ground rivet on after they painted them so the green wire was insulated from the bracket and signals didn't work.

Thanks for the heads up.  I might have (probably) thrown those on, and then found the problem!!  I have to ask - How tough is it to just make a part that looks like it is supposed to?  Oh yeah - and works!!!

I would look on e-bay and see if you can find a set in decent shape.  You can always paint them.  Be careful when buying the mounts.  The mounts changed with various years.  My K6 had straight blades welded to the grab rail.  I bought a used grab rail off e-bay from a K5 and found the blade mount on the grab rail had ears which interfered with the mounts.  I don't know what changes prior years had.
