Hi, i have inherited a problem on a 2008 turbo hayabusa.
I have sorted out a few problems already, regarding fuel delivery. Since the bike has 8 injectors, it had two powercommanders. One powercommander V for the lower set, and a powercommander III usb for the upper set. The pc3 had some issues, it wouldnt let me read back the map. And it triggered the upper injectors for cylinder 2 and 4 even at idle.
So i swapped it out for a Secondary fuel module for the PC5. I have set up the SFM to act as a "mirror" for the map in the PCV for the lower row of injectors. At startup the idle is still not good.
I have a question about the PC5 map. At idle, the current PC5 map adds 35% fuel. Even for a modified engine like this, there shouldn't be a need for this much extra fuel. Or?
I will add that the wideband reads 13ish at idle, even with the 30cm stub exhaust.
I think someone messed with the map at the last drag-race the owner attended.
They did it to try to diagnose a lack of power. I think the lack of power was caused by the pc3 not working correctly.
Is it safe to run a 0% map on the powercommanders at idle?
