Why?  I wouldn't buy that one at 1/3 the price.

Because the market for these is pretty good and there are people who will pay real money for them in any condition.
Obviously you don't pay a grand for a basket case but if you run across one laying behind someone's shed and can get for cheap do it.

Fortunately, we are not all on the same page when it comes to things (bikes) we like. Some of the great (to me ) bikes I own, I purchased for a reasonable price because there was limited interest by potential buyers.
The salesman of the dealer who sold this CT70 said he had no less than 5 guys in line who would have bought the bike if the buyer would pull out of the deal. He was from Cincinnati - 4 hours away. 8)

A lot of RV owners gravitate to the little C70's and even the Mini-Trail 50's.  Strap em on the back and go.  They've been bringing serious money for almost a decade now..that's some serious staying power.

These sell on eBay regularly for north of 3k and sometimes 4k in great shape. They are fun little bikes. I used to have a couple that we took with us on vacation. We had a lot of fun riding around on them and it was easier to park.

Yes, there are knock offs, but are they EMP proof? The people that buy these tend to preppers.
