Ken at CycleX in motorcycle crash
« on: August 22, 2017, 05:04:24 AM »
Kenny of CycleX fame was in a motorcycle crash. Details on their Facebook page, but from what I gather, although he suffered a pretty major impact, his injuries are not life threatening and he should make a full recovery:

https://www.facebook.com/cyclex/?hc_ref=ARQuJqQFJ5Apom7c6wc6_k5-F7gTtDU1D8W8WsyIG6toEOCNedjb5Wwt0jvjl1b_y2Q&fref=nf

He'll be out of commission for a little while and is not expected to make it to Barber nor any of the remaining Man Cup events this year. Wishing Ken a speedy recovery and hopefully he'll be back at events soon. I know I was looking forward to seeing his dragbike this November.

Sorry to hear that, thanks for sharing Wilbur.

For those who dont fakebook...

Hey Everyone,
Just to keep everyone aware, Ken was in a motorcycle accident yesterday. Someone pulled into his lane and slammed on the brakes in front of him, and he hit the back of the car. The impact threw him face first through the rear window, and his leg was smashed between the car and his bike. He was rushed to the hospital, doctors expected critical head/neck trauma, but somehow escaped with a battered face and a broken leg. He is recovering now, and will be on crutches for a while.
Unfortunately this means that our race appearances at Man Cup and Barber Motorsports Raceway in Georgia and Alabama are questionable to happen this year. For now though, we're going to take it slow and hope for a speedy recovery.
Ken will be out for a period of time (hopefully short), but he won't be at the shop to answer tech questions for the next couple days. We will do whatever we can to assist you for the time being.
Thank you again

So sorry to hear that. Sounds like the car driver was a fool. Hope he heals quickly. Anybody know out of curiosity what kind of bike was his personnel ride ?

That sucks.  I hate getting brake checked by cagers.  In washington, rear enders are always blamed on the vehicle behind the lead car.  Even in cases where insurance fraud could be suspected.
Hopefully the responding officers investigate this diligently and Ken will not be held at fault.
