I think the best one I got.......

Well.... I will give some context here...

When I met my wife we were poor to say the least. We had an outside wedding.. Not really because we wanted to, but because we were broke as a joke. I asked her several times this year what she wanted this year for Christmas. I said subtle hints = don't work, strong hints = don't work, JUST SAY IT!.

She held up her left hand..... Hint taken as I had never bought her a respectable wedding ring.

I went down to many jewelers, I looked at litterally hundreds of rings. Many WAY OUT OF MY price range. I finally found one I know she would love........$7,000 +  :o. I pulled the reins back and refocused my jeweler. It was a like bargaining for a Sandcast Honda 750 for the cost of an Ascot  ::) . Anyway he was able to get me into a custom ring within my price bracket. In this she also knows I did not even do this for my first wife.

I will not say how much I paid (I know she reads my posts). I will say this was many times over what I have paid for a motorcycle.

The price was not really important. What was, was the look on her face when I gave it to her (both of us in tears). I worked it through in my head many times what I would say. I got home, could not wait and had to give it to her. I got her in the other room to give it to her trying to be all excited and still be a tough guy and turn into a blubbering teary eyed fool.

It was well accepted......Her look was priceless  ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I was just trying to get her something 1. She wanted, 2. She would use  ;) 3. Make a good solid home run.

Last year I got her all of this really neat stuff she never got around to using. Maybe if I would clean up behind myself a bit she would have had time to use a Bird watchers journal (she asked for), killer binoculars (also asked for.  ???

The old TC's gift to himself was to not have a cigarette for the last 26 days.....I just might be a quitter soon. Other than that, the shiatsu massage chair liner thingy is a groove.

Good for you!

Whatsat cost Derek? I don't watch much TV, (particularly in summer) but I was walking around a department store yesterday and was surprised at how much plasma TV's varied in price, they seem to range between $2000 for a lower end brand, right up to $18000 for the battlestar galactica home theatre bizzo!

Personally, for that kinda dough I'd rather buy my wife a nice ring............. ok, that was bullshiit, for that kinda dough I'd buy my girlfriend some nice underwear and spend the rest on a Harley, ha ha! ;D

The coolest thing I got was a Honda "Wing" T-Shirt and a gift certificate to the local Honda shop (good for parts, apparel, anything) with strict instructions to only use it on one of MY bikes... ;D

Been absent lately. So far, I have gotten very lttle. However I have not gotten everything yet.
I got a creeper that folds into a chair with a parts tray. It rolls so I can minimize the amount of time I have to get off my ass!
I also got a medium sized shopvac that should help me keep my garage a bit cleaner after I have to lay down litter to soak up oil!
I will also be getting a 30+ gallon air compressor that will flow over 6 cfm at 90psi! Good enough for some painting!! ;D
