Yep, the stock gears are castings or forgings and are not as "dense" as the billet gears. Plus the extra dog on 5th and the engagement slots don't go all the way through on 2nd. They appear to be pretty heavy duty!

OK, I'll spill the beans. Bear (Brian) was kind enough to send a set of his heavy duty gears to me a while back so we could reverse engineer them. BIG KUDOS AND THANKS TO BRIAN! Brian and the guys down under had to develop and use these HD gear sets for some time because their motors are pumping some serious ponies!

However, prior to us having our gear cutting skills online, Yamiya750 started offering these sets off the shelf. They are not cheap but they are very high quality billet gear sets made in Japan. Yamiya750 has usually been keeping 1 set of these in stock for immediate shipment. Don't despair if they show to be out of stock because they usually restock in about 2 weeks.

Bill will be the first one I know to put them to the test under drag racing conditions. I have inspected these gear sets closely and I am very confident they will perform.

If you had been making the kind of power brother Bear makes, you probably would have figured it out! Need to bump that engine up a bit, Frank! Your nitrous ought to do the trick!

I'm hoping one day to make a bit more power on the red F model, but not as much as Bear or with nitrous. I do intend to get help from the bottle on the new project F model though. I'll be testing the Cycle Ex rods to the limit on this one.

1. Yep, but a lot cheaper than a busted tranny at the event you're counting on winning!

2. After giving Billie a false alarm last night regarding same, and looking closer at my set, pretty sure they can be used in a F trans. You may have to put an extra thrust washer behind the 2nd gear but I will have to confirm that.

I agree, they should work on a F model also. F's with bushings in the gears have the 25mm thrust washers built on the bushing. So you'd have to add the washer, usallly requires a little filing/dressing of inside of washer to slide easily on the F shaft, at least that's what I encountered on the last F I put undercut trans gears in. Yippee Kai Yeah, lookee here Murphy...really time for billet block now! This BE is stout! Man it spins so easily....Im getting excited about this one! Lol, Bill

It was another test y all passed.

Didn't turn the motor over. Just grabbed clutch basket to see how easy it turned.

Next time you will see the rod protectors,laying next to motor out of sight

The JMR cylinder look really good as it is from Mike. Same finish on the rest of the engine will shine fine!

Thanks, pulled the Chapman engine down, a real big disappointment. This one however pretty nice. It's the one from Tennessee a couple years back. It's cool. The Chapman engine, well more on it later, I got taken on that one! One in pics measured 72.75, had CR31s, ported head, big intakes, RC Golden rods piston's machine like later Cobra motors, not drilled skirts! Regrind cam, looks like a 327. More later.
