How can I tell if the rotor can still be used?

Its just a chunk of spinning metal.  Can it really go 'bad' ?

That's nothing too significant. It can clean up.

Sell it to me, it's been lightened.
If you rely on better lighting, it may charge less.
 Where are you, I have stock ones.
 That one looks like it won't work for electric start.

Maybe check your barrels and cam to see what you really have.
If the piston top is not flat  probably has a bore kit.

I would avoid using steel wool.  If not cleaned perfectly it can get into the windings/oil and cause problems.  I would use scotch bright pads instead and clean it off well after.  You don't want grit getting into the windings either.

Works toilet cleaner.  No fuss rust begone!  (Just rinse and neutralize afterwards)

My rotor seems to have that cut out of the middle of it as well. I always thought it was some type of damage, but it looks like yours is the same. Almost like slag was melted in a circle around the middle of it. Is this usual?
