HURRICANE HARVEY TELETHON FOR OUR OWN BUDMAN
« on: September 01, 2017, 10:04:33 AM »
As everyone is aware the recent Hurricane Harvey did widespread devastation across the Houston area and affected many people there and elsewhere. Many of the people are not insured. Suffering both mentally and financially has hit these folks hard! I'm not sure who else we have in that area that may have been affected but one of our own has taken the hit. Budman. It takes a big man to ask for help. I recently met Bud. He is a super nice guy and another SOHC4 brother. Budman has asked for help and I am here to help. I hope others are able to help out also. With his blessing I proposed to start this telethon in hopes our members can give a little of their hard earned dollars to jump start his recovery efforts.

Please help Bud with a donation for his family. Please send your donations through PayPal or if you don't have Paypal just click on the email address and shoot him a note for instructions on how to get him your pledge.

His email address is: budman@lecomptebass.com. Go to PayPal and help him out. I'm sure he'd like to hear from you also via PM or email.

Thanks for lending a helping hand to someone in need. If you'd like to post up here with what you were able to do or just a nice note that would be great but it's not necessary.

Larry/momo and I have already pledged $100 to start the ball rolling.

Jerry

Remember to use the send $ to friends and family option so bud doesn't get hit for fees.

We made massive progress today.  Just about all the drywall is out and both bathrooms are completely gutted.  So glad we only had carpet in two rooms.  Wet carpet is a drag.  Tomorrow we tackle the kitchen and the 50 year old wood floors.  It all comes out.

The donations are flying in.  I have not had time to check them all yet, but please know that they are greatly appreciated.  Since everybody uses a handle I'm not sure who is who, but thank you all!

If someone wants to help out, but doesn't have a PayPal account just send me a PM and I'll reply with my physical address.

Hey Budman,

Send me your paypal info, and I will shoot you a $50.  I wish I could afford to send more, but times are tight for me.

Guys it is not the amount that matters.  Even if it is $5., $10, or $20 bucks it adds up fast since there is alot of us.

Let's see what we can do to help Bud and his family get back on their feet.  I can imagine what they are going through.

Thank you every one for the prayers and donations.  We've made major progress.  The gutting is just about complete.  Just some clean up work to do.  Maybe another day or two then the house has to dry out a bit before we can spray for mold.

If anyone wants to donate but doesn't have a PayPal you can go to PayPal.me/budlecompte. You don't have to have a PayPal accounts by or sign up for one.

Thanks again!

Yes, I got it Keith.  Thanks for helping us out.  Right now my shop looks like a storage unit, but I'm glad I didn't have to haul our salvageable stuff away in a U-Haul.  It will all iron out in the end.

I'm sure and the price will skyrocket.  At the Home Depot where I work in PA shed builders are buying large quantities of plywood and OSB in anticipation of price increase. Also, gas has jumped close to .40 per gallon, we do have the highest gas tax in the country thoughj :( >:(

Yeah, by next week you find a sheet anywhere in Texas.
Hopefully they won't import more crappy Chinese sheet rock like they did after Katrina.

Thanks for posting this Jerry.  I'm in Texas but got off easy in San Antonio.  Sent a little Bud's way.  Wish I knew about the unbreakable lifter plate before I broke mine last year, hah.
