The good news is the AC is tuned up and working fine.  The electrical needs a little work, but nothing major.
Wow, that's lucky! Thank goodness!  :)

My buddy who works for BELFOR is out there working on flood damage -- similar work for a variety of buildings, but mostly larger structures (schools, etc.).

Larry/momo and I have already pledged $100 to start the ball rolling.

Been out of town, just saw this and matched these guys.

Bud - there is an outside chance I may be in the Houston area next weekend, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.  [my wife has a co-worker in the Friendswood area that was also affected]

Thanks for the donation!

Both bikes are good to go.  My buddy who owns a Harley shop donated the oil and filter for the bobber and sold me the new clutch at cost.  Both bikes got baths and a detail today.  Both are running fine.

I'm going to withdraw the insurance claims tomorrow.

Back to the house...I started replacing rotten wall studs and sole plates in one of the bathrooms.  Been rotten for years probably.  The time to fix it is now while I can get to it.  I've treated the house for mold, but I'm still waiting on some fungicide.  Should be here tomorrow.  Hope to start insulating next weekend.

This is excellent news. Good luck with the house.

We're starting to make some real progress on the house.  I've been spending as much time as I possibly can at the house in the evenings and on the weekends.  All the electrical work is done on the inside and while I could I made a few minor framing updates, like adding a small walk-in pantry.  A volunteer crew is replacing the roof and installing drywall this week.  I'll be taking the day off tomorrow to help peel off the old roof.  I've been searching for a reasonably plumber to set a new bathtub and shower.  Once that is done along with the taping and floating I'll be able to get all the walls and ceilings textured at once.  We still have a lot to do, but we'll get there.

I haven't been on the board much.  Been busy working on the house every minute I can.  We moved back in this past Monday.  The house isn't done.  Still gotta lot to do.  We're sort of indoor camping.  We've got the basics.  Even though I've been there everyday for the past four months working on the house it's good to be home.

I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

awesome idea, especially the caulk angel...  A couple years we had a Christmas tree made out of Kinexs .   Good to see you getting things back to some semblance of normalality...Larry
