shift fork removal on a 78 cb550k
« on: September 01, 2017, 10:38:15 PM »
Does anybody know what I am missing?  I can not get the last shift fork out.  I have removed the cotter pin and do not see a dowel but it won't slide off the shaft?  Also how do you remove those locating dowels with messing them up with pliers?  Thanks

Use a magnet to pull them up. There has to be a dowel or else it wouldn't work. You have the shaft partially removed, right? I mean, you're not trying to slide it off the shaft while the shaft still captured by the case?

For the life of me I can't figure out how to get that off.  I connected a magnet to it and hung it upside down and shook it with out it coming off >:(
