Motogadget. Yay or nay?

Okay that was enough!

Funniest thing is you legitimately got me wondering about pros and cons of LEDs etc

Thanks LBB, I'd feel sorry for hijacking the OP's thread, but it looks like he abandoned it pretty much after his first post, so I think there's plenty of scope for arguing about oil, tyres, steering dampers, politics and gay marriage, before some hall monitor, er, I mean moderator comes along and shoots down our fun........ ;D

What IS the lowdown on steering dampers?

They're fantastic devices that will save you from a massive tank slapper, and are standard fit menus on most modern hyperbikes, so totally unnecessary, especially if your name is Lloyd or Delta.... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Are they worth installing on something like my 78 CB550k cafe with clip ons?

The quality of coffee is not strain'd,
It droppeth as the gentle cafe from Honda
Upon the hood beneath: it is twice bohersome;
It bothers  him that does and him that doesn't

They are just for the "Cool Factor" alone mate, I've got one hanging up in my garage, so I think I'll install it on my "Bitsa" build...... ;D

No. Unless you're seriously racing it. In which case it's prolly not necessary either. JUST MY OPINION.

'77 and '78 stock exhausts are prettier than earlier ones.

Said no one ever.

Well, maybe.  I've owned both.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

By 1977 the CB750 was old hat, there were much more exciting bikes to be had, and Honda didn't have a DOHC 4 to claw back their plummeting sales, so they put some lipstick on a pig and rolled out the K7, a truly disgusting (but mechanically excellent) example of marketing desperation. Excellent Cafe Racer/Bobber/Brat candidates, the sooner they're wiped from the face of the earth, the better....... ;D

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder.
Siiiipppp..
You know if I had a Steering Damper, on the fantastic SemiColon 1/2F, I could let go of my bars now and then..
Siiiipppppp
I have an Ohlins damper actually, but I think I should address the root cause....loose or non exiastant balls and pitted races..
I will never have a cafe, half calf maybe but never cafe..

I suppose, but I never rode  it yet,
I have had two F hulks before and was glad to sell them .
I had had another lowered f for a few years withbincorrect motor in it, now have a motor for that.
If I build it it will be a tracker.
