Shift pattern on gear shift cover CB750- what years?
« on: September 05, 2017, 02:52:19 PM »
Would anyone know when Honda started showing the gear shift pattern on the  gear shift cover. It shows 1 N 2 3 4 5 in a curving vertical line on the cover. It must be after 1971 as my K0 and K1 motors don't have this on the cover. I have a spare with this on it. Thanks, Cliff.

Is that finish from vapor blasting or paint? Very nice.

Only paint. But High Temp.  VLC.  We'll see about durability.  Budgets are difficult!

Some 74 have them I think.
I freaking hate them, I call them the safety Nazi version.

Why I also asked this question is in the September /October issue of Motorcycle Classics in an article on a gorgeous 1970 CB750 4 that scored a 99.50 at an AMCA show with one of those covers on it. I know that's a picky thing but I've been called out for using allen head screws on my CB750 K1's.

I have 3 K0 motors including a sandcast plus a K1 without that on the covers. I am surprised to see that one on the K0 restoration bike in the article. Cliff.
