1977 CB550F Exhaust Flange?
« on: September 17, 2017, 04:04:41 PM »
 Hello everyone,

I'm currently in the process of building my own custom exhaust for my 77' 550F. The welder I'm working with is going to have some 1.25" SS pipe pressed in to a flange for the exhaust ports. But I am having trouble finding a picture of what type of flange it is. Does any one have and old pipe kicking around, that they might might be able to give me some dimensions on and post a picture?

Thanks!

Hey Cal, Thanks for chiming in. I know when I take my micrometer to the OD of my aftermarket pipes it reads 1.25" at the header back to the collector. Then they seem to have the finned type compression ring and half moon insets that I imagine press on the flange.

Assuming these components come apart, I will probably just keep with this system. But The Motogp/Yoshi system does sound superior, I will take a look at it. Thanks!

Hi Cal! Thanks for getting back to me. I'm trying to imagine what that MGP stype spigot is but I am coming up short. You don't happen to have a picture of it by chance do you?

The Hindle Exhaust systems use what cal is talking about.

It really is a much better design for attaching pipes.

Maybe if you ask them nicely they'll sell you a set of the cylinder head clamps and springs?
