72' cb500 rat rod/bobber -shortest after market shocks available?

Ive only found 10.5", is there anything shorter?

Keep in mind there are practical limits to how short it can be before the tire hitting the bottom of the seat becomes a real risk/problem.

Warning issued, you could look for lowering brackets to combine with the shorter shocks. They move the bottom attachment point backwards a couple inches changing the shock angle and lowering the rear end. They are a really common old school mod on these bikes so I would look for a set on eBay.

+1 for lowering blocks.

The change in suspension angle will look good (and feel good) on a bobber.

10.5" shocks produce basically no travel, so at that point, why not use struts and go hardtail?

Money, we just want to get the bike back to a realistic riding position like it was before. Ill try the lowering kit...I think thats what I'm looking for.

Any kind of a shock or even rubber shock snubbed us better than struts.., just ask my back.
 Btw I rode my 836 to Bonneville in 07 with struts..  fun ride but painful.
