Topic: exact procedure for disabling speed warning unit.

Now I know there are a few posts of people stating they have disabled thier 78 or 77 speed warning unit. Does anyone have any exact procedures or instructions? I have been battling with this issue for a while, but I didnt even know it till recently.

My original speedometer died, I tried replacing the speedo cable, but made no difference. I ended up cracking open my speedometer and  found the needle was just very slow to rise and fall (lubrication didnt help this) so I decided to look for a replacement. All the replacements I found look authentic except they have two wire leads not 4. I asked all the resellers of the speedometer and noone had a clue. I ended up digging out my haynes manual and looking at the wire diagram and thats where I found the speed warning unit.

So Id like to disable it, I need a new speedometer anyway. Can someone offer some help on this? Does anyone have a procedure. ITs only september 11th,, (geez didnt realize the day)
and Id like to get some more riding in this year.

Would appreciate the help getting my 77 CB750A up and running again.

Connect the solenoid valve and changing relay like the -76 and remove the speed warning unit!

Compare the diagrams
Take away the speed warning unit, connect the black/red wire and black wire. No use for the pink wire.
