Got kinda confused after the bit about fathers.

Anyway, this relevant picture just came across my desk.

Where was that taken?  Point about fathers is that they teach sons how to handle themselves.

You'll never see someone taking a knee for the National or Canadian anthem at a hockey game. Do you know why? Discipline and ethics. It's ingrained in the sport like no other. It's also because hockey is such a diverse sport. People from all over the world play minor and professional and they do it in complete harmony. That is on their own team, the other team can kick rocks. The NFL players need to stop being a bunch of self righteous ignorants, and start taking a page from the Professional hockey players handbook.

I'd like to see these football players go play a tournament in a different country. Where you have to be respectful of other people's cultures. They wouldn't make it a day.

You want to make change? Real change? Take a season off and do it in support of black lives or whatever your cause. That will attract more shock and awe than taking a knee and disrespecting a country that provides you with such luxuries.

By the way, I'm a cis white guy, when I was 17 a cop got in my face and put hands on me in my driveway. He got so close I could taste his saliva. This was because of an "out taillight". When my mom came outside he told her to get back in the house or else. He was unprovoked and I did whatever he said. Looking back I should have sued him over a lot of things. This was in rural NJ. That's the least of the harassment I faced. Never did drugs, never got arrested, non of that #$%*, so don't sit here and tell me about police, or ghettos, or whatever. It's all bull#$%*. If a cop told me to blow him I would have, and later, hopefully there's so retribution, but for now, sucking a dick is better than being dead. You get what I'm saying? Obvious exaggeration, but that's needed right now because people seem to have a hard time understanding the severity of listen to an officer.

Hey why is it that in most of the "hoods", statistically, a young black man is more likely to be killed by another young black man, than any other cause of death including disease, auto accidents, drowning, drug overdoses etc, and yet the "Black Lives Matter" folk never seem to mention their concerns over this issue?

Personally I'm not surprised that US cops are a little bit trigger happy, when I see the statistic that 13% of the US population commit more than half of the murders? I think that cops lives matter just as much. Cheers, Terry.

Obey the cop at any cost no #$%*ing way, Name, Rank and Serial Number, Ofc, I live in a country that doesn't have the problem of cops bouncing around with guns drawn and we'd #$%*ing well better not, if some idiot cop came on to me as god and I was injured I'd spend the rest of my life making sure that he dragged his own cross up the hill. Here we have a sneaking suspicion the cops are here to help, not push an agenda. So I guess guys, keep your problems south of the border and don't bring them here. Oh and as far as our trump like leader he got voted out never to return. Thank Christ.

Only in the US can a cop get fired for telling a woman that cops only shoot black people, but cops that actually shoot innocent black people keep their jobs.

Denying that there is a systemic and institutional problem with race and policing in the US -- and trying to blame victims -- is blindness, or worse. For all of the armchair patriots out there screaming at NFL (and NBA and MLB now) players taking a knee, there are veterans who are supporting their right to freedom of expression.

Hey Terry, I read through that article.  It wasn't bullocks, but the black kill black argument is usually tactic white people use to minimize problem policing.

And it's an easy argument to make.  I mean here's one that might hit close to home.

A staggering majority percentage (99.999999999999999999% to be exact) of Australian murder victims, were murdered by Australians.  Australian on Australian crime is at a startling high and studies prove that Australians are 99.999999999999% more likely to murder a fellow Australian.

I worked on an ONR project that had (aspirations of?) ties to DARPA. Had access to some info about current projects (a couple years ago). As Johnny Carson would say, "Weird, wacky stuff."

TwoTired, how do you know it is legit if not bought online?  That is the way it works, you get it from the Trift store, add the words legit vintage flannel, pay $50 for a $5 dollar thrift store shirt and then you know you got the right stuff. lol

TwoTired, how do you know it is legit if not bought online?  That is the way it works, you get it from the Trift store, add the words legit vintage flannel, pay $50 for a $5 dollar thrift store shirt and then you know you got the right stuff. lol

Actually bought more shirts today.  They look and feel new, appear unworn, fit fine.  Already washed, so no shrinkage worries.  Three flannels and a long sleeve "t" shirt (so my arms won't burn when out mowing with the tractor) for $10 total.  Probably aren't "vintage", though.  Still, warm and comfy.  And no one has the see my little flabby oldman pecs.
