Exploded view of gearbox.
« on: September 27, 2017, 12:53:55 AM »
To save me from trawling through all the posts on here, can anyone post an exploded view of what's in the gearbox like what you might see in a parts book ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Jukku.
I've never fully understood how the gearbox worked and from all the pictures I've seen of the box, I noticed there are no shift forks like in a conventional gearbox.
Can you explain how the shift mechanism works when one changes from low to high gear. Are the two gears meshed together all the time and is it just the two clutches coming into play when you shift ?

Yes, that is correct. The shift mechanism is a hydraulic valve that redirects the pressure to neither (neutral) or either of the clutches - one on - one off.

It sounds like that was my problem then Keith. From what I've found out, there are problems with this if the bike is rolling and the motor is not running but I'm still waiting to hear from someone that has also experienced this.
