Your question is valid.

After many years courting the CITATION market, Cessna has gone back into the piston engine theater  --- albeit a bit price-ee-er   ;D ;D

So now we have a HONDA JET.

It looks like they will be in the arena with the likes of FALCON JET.

I don't know what the price will be.  Might they be shooting low enough to attract some of the folks that would fork out for an Eclipse?  Or will the price difference be too big?

I think the price will be in the ballpark of the eclipse.

The market in VLJ's is pretty hot as evidenced by the developements in this segment of the market.

Eclipse is by no means the only contender in the race.  Cessna (mustang), Adams aircraft (A700), Diamond Aircraft (D-jet), Embraer (Phenom100), Piper (piperjet) and the list goes on.

These aircraft represent what turboprop's were two decades or more ago.

Supposedly these jets will be reasonable to aquire pricewise. They are reputed to be low operating cost per flight hr. Advances in flight management allows them to be flown single pilot by anyone with a modecum of skill.

There is lots of talk regarding owner operators ( owner is also the pilot ).

Also talk of massive expansion in the air charter / fractional ownership market.

And paxtonpony....maybe I would fit in with the sportbike forum....but I don't just have a "license" I do it for a living.

Back to the question if Harley made a plane would you fly in it? NO!   Honda? YES!  Once they start making this plane, the Harley crowd will need to come up with something other than "biker buildoff".  Hmmmm plane buildoff?  They'll be building bi-planes with V-twins.  Maybe 2 v-twins!!!!!!!!  What a concept!! I'll make millions!
