Howdy from So NH
« on: October 06, 2017, 07:06:13 AM »
Hey there
I had a new 75 K5, blue and a new 76 K6, red, to replace the K5 a cousin crashed on me at 9,000 miles.
I put 45,000 on the 76 before selling it in 83 to help fund building a school bus to live in a few years. At 15,000 miles I put in a Yoshimura 811 kit, 3/4 race cam and 3 angle valve cuts.
My hound Cody had 35,000 miles on the 76 with 5 cross country trips in 3 years.

I had set up another 76 K6 for my brother while I was parts manager back then. He rode it a couple years and sold it to my dad. Dad had it a couple more years and sold it to a friend of mine from high school. I stopped bya couple years ago and his wife mentioned Pete had a bike. What did you have? I asked. "That 750 you sold me." WOW you mean my dad's? You still have it? Yup! Can I see it?
Well it was out in the shed, parked since 1990. Motor stuck, mouse nests, rusted frame from mouse pee but no wiring damage.

Welcome from NE MN,

Get the bike for 1/10 of what your dad sold it for originally and you will probably beat CL prices.
